Looks like another shopping center has beat Livingston Parish to the finish. Colonial Pinnacle Nord du Lac shopping center in Covington along I-12 is going to be opened sometime in October of this year. A giant 100 store open air mall.

Last I heard is that the Corp of Engineers had to approve the plans and that a small creek was holding it up.

I do know that a lot of Malls across the country are in bankrupcey. I was told that the Mall of La in BR is having problems.

I donot think that the place is going to be built. They will be to late. Hammond Square shopping center has just had a makeover and the new Target is opened along with a new JC Penneys. Then you have the other shopping centers at the Covington exit of the interstate 12. I'm always taking a ride to Covington to shop and do a day trip. So many good restaurants there and the old downtown areas are nicely restored. Livingston Parish just does not have much of an old downtown area to restore like Hammond, Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville and Ponchatoula. I'm sorry to talk so bad about LP but we are toooooooo late! Yea the Bass Pro area is starting to build up but I think all we really have is the Bass Pro Shop and a couple of restaurants. I sure hope more will get going in that area. Let me go post some more somewhere else!

There is a Academy Sports and a Sams Club coming to the denham springs area soon.....I think it is going to be right by the Bass Pro....anyone here about that?
