I figured I'd post it again here just in case I didn't do it right.

Hello ...this is my first post on this board. I have heard the rumor that someone has bought 1900 acres between Satsuma and Livingston and that some of the money was Disney...plans to build a movie studio, waterpark and semi-pro baseball complex.

The other rumor was from someone who lives on Walker South and said that Disney bought 2200 acres from the old Harris place..with plans for a Magic Kingdom

I don't know what to think...but something is going to be built in Livingston Parish...Mike Grimmer said that soon he will have a major announcement that will shock the south!

Well guys I have it on good authority and verified information that WDW did in fact purchase around 2000 acres with an agreement to purchase around 3000 more in the near future all within the same area. The sad part for some of you is that ALL initial talks thus far have been around it being a Movie Production Studio for WDW. It is not entirely out of the question that some sort of theme park might be built but in all likelihood it will be a movie studio. No idea how or when this project might start but it is well on its way to becoming a reality. I got this information from a couple of people I know in parish government in Livingston Parish. I'll stop by and post more if I hear anything else. They did say as well that the location of the purchased land is under strict secrecy as to not inflate prices.

Denham Springs had a water park a long time ago. It was located on the Amite river next to the interstate. If there is at least 30 acres available there my guess is this may be the place. Talk of an intersate exit right there has been ongoing. Talk about a traffic nightmare. Bass Pro is going to make Denham Springs the place you will not want to live because of the traffic. If the water park people were smart they would look a little east of Denham Springs. Holden would be a good place to start. There is a major chain store that has purchased the land at the north side of Holden where the log cabin place is. Rumor is it is Wal-Mart.  Maybe they know something that the rest of us don't know.

I was wondering if there was anymore info. regarding the disney park here in Livingston parish

I was wondering if anyone else has heard the news? I heard from a well-know attorney and several realtors that Disney is having interest in our area near the interstate. Livingston has paid $70K for the land surveying for the plot. I was told that it is supposed to be a combination Disney Theme Park with a Schlitterboms water park (excuse the spelling).....anyone heard this?
